Project 1: Paper Coffee Sleeve
The goal of this project was to make a better coffee sleeve using one piece of 8.5"x11" card stock. I decided to go for a clean, simple one-piece design.

Tossing out ideas. How do I improve on the existing coffee sleeve?
The Design Process
I started out making prototypes of printer paper, to get the general shape down. I also wanted to figure out how the tabs worked.
My tab design was promising, but the sleeve sat oddly on the cup. The next paper prototype had a roughly curved shape in order to fit more snugly.
From here, I could take rough measurements and remake my drawing in Solidworks. This resulted in a much cleaner, but still simple design. After testing it with printer paper, I made a prototype from card stock.
I still wasn't happy with the shape, so I decided to modify one of the prototypes with scissors. I liked the way it looked, so I edited my CAD file and re-cut it on the laser cutter for the final design.
